  11. This is a fairly simple modification that  can  be  made  to  any
  12. phone.   All  it  does  is  allow you to take any 2 lines in your
  13. house and create a party line. So far I have  not  heard  of  any
  14. problems  with it from my friends that have set one up and I have
  15. not had any either. There is one thing that you will notice  when
  16. you are one of the two people who is called by a person with this
  17. box. The other person will sound a little  bit  faint.   I  could
  18. overcome  this  with  some  amplifiers but then there wouldn't be
  19. very many of these boxes made.  I think that the  convenience  of
  20. having  two  people  on line at any one time will make up for the
  21. minor volume loss.

  61. In some houses the black and yellow are already wired  in  others
  62. you  will have to go out to your box and rewire it. A good way to
  63. figure out which line is which is to take the phone you are look-
  64. ing  for  off  the  hook.  Then you only need to take the red and
  65. green wires entering your phone and hook them  to  the  different
  66. pairs of red and green going into the house.  You can't hurt any-
  67. thing in the phone or telephone by probing.  When  you  find  the
  68. pair that you want take the black from your line and attach it to
  69. the red of the other line then take the yellow and attach  it  to
  70. the  green line.  Now you are all set to go.  For people with ro-
  71. tary phones you can have one  person  call  you  then  place  the
  72. second  call  out to the other person. Though not phreakers tool,
  73. the brown box can be phun.
